The effect of social influence on knowledge production: An analysis of Academic Productivity (Academic Productivity)
Abstract:
While the individual researcher is usually the standard level of analysis in the study of academic research production, evidence on the collective determinants of academic productivity is still limited. Using the merger of the Science Faculty at the University of Copenhagen as a source of exogenous variation in the composition of the departments, this project investigates the effect of social influence on individual academic scientific productivity and its underlying mechanisms.
