Aurora Alliance (AURORA)


Abstract:

In the longer term (10-15 years) the Aurora European University Alliance will be a transnational, multi-campus network organisation for higher education and research which is acclaimed by alumns, stakeholders in their societal and economic communities, and the members of its own academic community for its matching of academic excellence with societal relevance. It will be recognised as leading in societal impact & relevance of research, in diversity and inclusion in all aspects of its activities, in innovation of teaching and learning, and in active student engagement with their education as well as with their university. Education at the Aurora Alliance will be focused on societal challenges, built on an interdisciplinary approach to scholarly expertise, and will demonstrably equip its graduates with the skills and mind-set that enable them to bring real societal value. These skills and mind-set will allow them to address societal challenges and contribute to a Europe that is internally cohesive and globally competitive. Research, education and outreach activities will be co-owned by and co-created with societal stakeholders at local, regional, European and global level. Aurora Alliance will have a zero carbon footprint and will be exemplary in contribution to the sustainable development goals and the agenda 2030.
