How do digital natives collaborate? A cross-cultural comparison of Danish & US students (DIGI-NATIVE-COLLAB)


Abstract:

In a globalized working environment, the use of novel technologies and social media for collaborative work is an important area of investigation. Collaboration will become even more important for learning and working in the 21st century and especially for "digital natives" students. Furthermore the design of new teaching methods and learning environments that foster blendedlearning, collaboration, interaction and engagement of digital natives is an important endeavor forteachersand professors. The study findings will contribute to a better understanding of how to better support an effective collaboration and e-collaboration in the classroom taking into account gender and cultural differences.
