Highlights from ICPM Discussion Forum 2023
We are thrilled to share highlights from the recently concluded ICPM Forum in Copenhagen, held from October 1 to October 3, 2023, at the Radisson Collection Royal Hotel.
This event, a collaborative effort between International Center for Pension Management, PeRCent and several esteemed partners, brought together leading minds in the field of pension management, fostering insightful discussions on critical industry topics.
Day 1: Insights into the Danish Pension System
The event commenced with Chief Risk Officer and Executive Vice President, Kim Johansen (ATP) discussing the dynamic landscape of the Danish pension system. Attendees enjoyed networking opportunities and a reception hosted by ATP at the Danish Architecture Centre.
Day 2: Longevity Risk and Decumulation Strategies
Day two delved into crucial areas of concern for pension funds. Experts like Actuary, Jesús-Adrián Alvarez (ATP), Head of Actuarial Department, Kristian Buchardt (AP Pension), and Associate Professor, Malene Kallestrup-Lamb (Aarhus University) presented the latest advancements in longevity risk modeling. The day continued with discussions on innovative decumulation strategies led by Head of Asset Liability Management, Brnic Van Wyk (Australian Retirement Trust), Chief Executive Officer, Richard Fullmer (Nuovalo), and Director, Paul Todd (Investment Development and Delivery, NEST), providing valuable insights for industry professionals.
PeRCent and ICPM co-sponsored an exquisite dinner at the Royal Danish Opera, setting the stage for meaningful conversations in a spectacular setting.
Day 3: Addressing Challenges in Overseas Presence and Inflation Resiliency
The final day showcased compelling discussions on establishing overseas presence, managing public relations amidst polarization, and addressing inflation resiliency. Noteworthy speakers, including Chief Risk Officer and Executive Vice President, Kim Johansen (ATP), Chief Investment Management, Geraldine Leegwater (PGGM), and Professor of Finance, Lasse Heje Pedersen (CBS), shared valuable insights on these pressing issues.
