PhD defence: Christian Bason

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Christian Bason has submitted his thesis entitled: Leading public design - How managers engage with design to transform public governance

The thesis explores how collaborative design approaches are applied in public sector organizations. Drawing on qualitative case studies from five countries, the thesis analyses the leadership behaviors involved in realizing design projects, and characterizes the types of solutions and value flowing from design work. Finally, the thesis discusses the implications of design approaches for emerging principles of public governance.
