“Capitalism 2.0? In Search of Sustainable Business: Managing Risk, Opportunity and the Transition to Sustainable Economy” with Michael Townsend, CEO, Earthshine March 18
When and where: March 18, 15:30 - 17:00, Porcelænshaven 16B, Room: PH109
About the seminar:
“As business leaders, we talk about sustainability becoming embedded in everything we do, as part of our corporate DNA. It is certainly true that sustainability has come a long way over the last decade – and with each step, we’re getting closer to the heart of business strategy and decision-making, but we’re not there yet”, says Michael Townsend.
In this seminar, he takes us on a journey of exploration – from where we are today, to the more strategic approaches we will ultimately need to develop, if we are to best manage the risks and opportunities, and deliver sustainable business success.
On this journey, Michael Townsend will share concrete examples of how companies have successfully implemented sustainable business strategies; managing risk, while improving business performance and profitability. He also reminds us that, at this time of change, business leadership is paramount: the 21st Century Executive will need to develop a raft of new approaches to help make sense of our changing world, to synthesize strategies based on a new set of business dynamics, and to lead people and organizations to a better place.
Michael also challenges us to think through the systemic changes that are needed, if we are to make the shift towards a truly sustainable economy, within which businesses, people and planet can thrive and prosper.
After his presentation the floor is open to Q&A facilitated by Associate Professor, Ole Bjerg, MPP and co-leader of the Sustainability Platform’s research cluster “Post-Growth Economy”.
