Presentation

My academic background in urban studies / history is a springboard into examining the complex interplay between culture, economic relationships, communication, and organizing. I deploy social science research tools and analysis across the range of my contemporary and historical publications. My first monograph The World in a City: Multiethnic Radicalism in Early Twentieth-Century Los Angeles (University of Illinois Press, 2019) won the Shelley Fisher Fishkin Prize for International Scholarship in Transnational American Studies from the American Studies Association.
