Ekstern lektor
My research focuses on understanding consumer identity development. Particularly, how individuals make sense of self through consumption of products, brands, and services. I have co-authored a chapter published by Edward and Elgar in the Handbook of Research on Identity Theory in Marketing, titled “The creation of identity and brand meaning: the automatic versus creative use of mental models in language.” My teaching, research, and supervision experiences all involve qualitative approaches that explore consumer behavior with an emphasis on social-cognitive perspectives.
I have more than 25 years of experience within both the profit and non-profit business sectors; holding positions in direct services, management, and self-employment. Based on the latter and my Masters (MSW), I have obtained extensive experiences in social science theories, interview methods as well as psychosocial assessments. I was a PhD candidate at Copenhagen Business School (ABD), and currently hold a position as external lecturer while I continue to work on research independently. At CBS I have taught courses in Qualitative Methods and Consumer Behavior both in the classroom and online at the Bachelor’s level as well as serve as an examiner for oral and written exams for courses in the Marketing Department at CBS.
I currently supervise Bachelor students on qualitative projects in the area of consumer research (and Masters with pre-approval).
