In order to obtain the PhD degree, Michael Güldenpfennig has submitted his thesis entitled:
Managing the interrelationships between manufacturing system elements for productivity improvement in the factory
The article-based thesis investigates how managers in factories engage in the orchestration of interrelationships among manufacturing elements as they pursue productivity improvements. The thesis provides a novel system- and management control theory view of productivity management at factories and therewith an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the barriers hindering productivity improvement.
