Presentation

I have been studying organizations and work for more than two decades, with a specific focus on the development and management of people especially in knowledge intensive or professional organizational settings. The historical development of the relation between individual and organization, has been an enduring interest. Therefore themes within (Strategic) HRM, HRD, PM, OD, IR and OB have my attention.

I have been working ethnographically using an symbolic interactionist approach to understand the micro-foundations of institutional logics. For instance, the way professionals make sense of contradictory institutional logics of management in professional service firms (Bévort, 2012).

I am responsible for the administration and following analysis and publication of the Cranet survey, which explores the state of Danish HRM in all organizations with more than 100 employees (the survey is conducted in collaboration with 39 other countries).

I am currently working on a project with Katharina Pernkopf, WU on the academic-practitioner gap within HRM-research and practice.
