Department of Strategy and Innovation
Palle Høy Jakobsen is the Study Director of the BioBusiness and Innovation Programme at the Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and an external lecturer at the University of Copenhagen. He teaches commercialisation and innovation topics within science fields at CBS and UCPH. He also teaches master classes in negotiations at CBS. He is now a mentor in the Lifescience Accelerator Baden- Württemberg in Germany in 2018.
Palle Høy Jakobsen has organised summer schools in Innovation, taught Project management and Drug development at the Danish Technical University and negotiation simulations at Uppsala University Summer School. Palle Høy Jakobsen has been a Teacher at patent and licensing coursers at the Danish Patent Office and at CBS. Palle Høy Jakobsen has acted as a facilitator at New Department Managers course at Novo Nordisk.
Dr. Jakobsen was the Director of the Scandinavian unit of EIT Health, one of the largest healthcare initiatives worldwide, with the goals of improving the sustainability of healthcare systems, promoting healthy living and enhancing the overall wellbeing of people across Europe – while also helping to unlock Europe’s innovation and growth potential.
Dr. Jakobsen has 14 years of experience with the pharmaceutical company, Novo Nordisk A/S, where he worked several years as a senior licensing director, conducting the negotiation of licensing deals and collaboration agreements with pharmaceutical and biotech companies and academic institutions. He also coordinated product and technology assessments. He was also manager of a department coordinating postdoc & PhD programmes and academic collaborations worldwide.
Dr. Jakobsen has also worked with start-up companies in Denmark and handled discovery portfolio management for the pharmaceutical company Lundbeck.
Dr. Jakobsen did research in the field of immunology and infectious diseases at Statens Seruminstitute, the National University Hospital (Rigshospitalet), and the University of Copenhagen. He was the coordinator of several international grants in this period and author/co-author of more than 50 publications. He has been a PhD opponent and supervising students.
Dr. Palle Høy Jakobsen has a DMSc degree and a PhD degree from the University of Copenhagen (UCPH).
