The Google Android Case

The New Role of Competition Law in the IT World

Wednesday, September 7, 2016 - 13:00 to 15:30

The Law Department of the Copenhagen Business School is happy to invite you to the first in a new series of seminars on the development of competition law in the IT sector:

1. The Google Android Case

The event will take place on 7 September from 13:00 to 15:30 at CBS, Solbjerg Plads 3, SP212.

The Commission opened proceedings in April 2015 concerning Google's conduct as regards the Android operating system and applications. The Commission considers that Google holds a dominant position in the three related markets: those for general internet search services, for licensable smart mobile operating systems and for app stores for the Android mobile operating system. Google holds market shares of more than 90% in each of these markets in the European Economic Area (EEA).

The panel will explore arguments for both sides, look into how this investigation relates to previous Google cases and throw light on the direction this case takes EU competition law to.

The panel consists of:

Benoit Tabaka, ‎Senior Policy Manager, Google EMEA
Erik Kjær-Hansen, Partner, Gorrissen Federspiel, Copenhagen
Søren Sandfled Jakobsen, Professor, Aalborg University
Andrej Savin, Associate Professor, CBS (moderator)

Registration: seminar.jur@cbs.dk

Participation is free.
