Associate Professor Maja Horst, MPP receives award for communication that changes attitudes
She has recently published a book on the power of business journalism, and Thursday 23 April, Maja Horst was granted the Research Communication Award 2009. The award is granted by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Maja Horst receives the award for her involving communication of controversial technologies and research results, for instance in stem cell research. She is also behind projects with interactive installations that invite the audience to become an active part of research communication by building models and indicate their attitudes by putting balls in pipes, etc.
- Maja Horst’s contribution to the public debate is of significant value to society. Through innovative communication forms, she is able to inform and at the same time enter into a dialogue with the audience. She has demonstrated that research can be communicated by other means than words, and that research communication in 2009 is a living, learning and involving discipline. She is an inspiration to other researchers, says Science Minister Helge Sander
