Anne-Marie Søderberg and Martine Cardel Gertsen attended the 15th-18th April in an international conference ECON PR 2010 (http://www.econpr.com) at Poznan University of Economics in Poland, while the official Poland was in mourning after the plane crash in Smolensk, and ash clouds from Iceland gradually closed the airspace.

Anne-Marie Søderberg was invited to give a key note speech on 'Communicative and Cultural Challenges in Managing International Mergers and Acquisitions'. Martine Cardel Gertsen presented a paper entitled 'Together we are stronger' - A case study of Carlsberg's strategic concept 'winning behaviors' in the wake of a series of international acquisitions'. The paper is based on interviews and documents Martine Cardel Gertsen and Anne Marie Søderberg have obtained in Carlsbergs headquarter and field work in Carlsbergs subsidiaries in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Beijing. Both presentations are contributions to the book, 'Challenges for Communication Management and Public Relations in International Mergers and Acquisitions'. The book is being edited by Professor Ryszard Ławniczak, Head of Department of Journalism and Economic Public Relations in Poznan, scheduled for publication later this year.
