Research degree students from CBS receive the Tuborg Foundation Business Economics Award
For the eleventh year in a row, the Tuborg Foundation is granting a total amount of DKK 1,050,000 to seven research degree students from all the universities in Denmark earmarked for a period of study in USA. Mie Harder from the Center for Strategic Management and Globalization has received a part of the award for her work with globalisation and management techniques. She wants to spend the money on further training at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, USA, which is known to have one of the best international research environments within business economics and management.
Not enough management innovation in Denmark
It is not possible to apply for the Tuborg Foundation Business Economics Award. You have to be nominated by your university. One of the reasons for nominating Mie Harder is that she is going to conduct research in a topical area, which has not been subject to any particular research in Denmark yet. Within the field of management innovation, she is breaking away from the traditional theory of the external influence of innovation and is looking into which internal conditions in a company that makes it more innovative than others. Mie Harder is looking forward to be inspired by the American researchers and to make sure that her project corresponds to the foreign examples by going to the USA. One of the motivations behind the nomination read like this:
"By exposing her research results to critique and ideas from the best academics in the field, Mie will be able to raise the project to a higher level and approach the best international research standards."
