BSc SEM combines business economics and service sector studies and gives you an in-depth understanding of how to market, sell and organise a service in national as well as international markets.

You work with economics both at the firm level and at a national or international level. You will study both private companies and public organisations and the special economics of the service sector.
    Society and politics
The Bsc SEM deals with the management of important institutions in the society such as museums, day cares, hospitals and schools. You will also learn about the public regulations, laws and politics that all service companies are subject to.
    Communication in companies
Communication within companies and with the outside world is important for success. You will work with communication as a general aspect throughout the programme, especially in courses like marketing, organisational behavior and strategy.
    International business relations
It is an international programme that has an international focus. Trade, international exchange and business development are natural parts of the service sector today and therefore you will work with cases from different parts of the world.

You will get a thorough understanding of how states and markets interact in different developed and developing countries. You learn how political institutions shape the environment for business and the consequences this has for society.
    Economics and maths
You obtain the necessary understanding of economic theory and models. Such mathematical models are used to explain issues such as the decision of the firm, the relationship between variables such as interest rate and inflation, and the pattern of trade.
    International business relations
You get a strong basis for understanding business and managerial decisions especially when doing business across borders. The political aspect is included through issues such as the political process of lobbyism, international negotiations and corporate social responsibility.
    People in organisations
You will learn how people interact with each other in different organisational situations.
