PhD defence: Olga Zarzecka

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Olga Zarzecka submitted her thesis entitled: Tie Content in Professional Networks

Friday, September 23, 2016 - 11:00 to 13:00

What resources flow in senior managers’ professional networks? The informal ties in professional networks provide senior managers with access to different types of resources. These resources can facilitate individual manager success as well as the performance of the organisations to which they belong. Extant research has established that senior managers differ in terms of the resources they access through their network ties, but the underlying mechanisms that affect differences in resource access remain unexplored. Specifically, in this dissertation I address what resources and why these flow through the informal ties in senior managers’ professional networks. These questions are examined in the context of the professional networks of a sample of Danish senior managers.
