Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship wins innovation award
Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship (CSE) was awarded the DSEB Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award of DKK 100,000 for their Pollinate project yesterday evening during a ceremony at Axelborgsalen.
Launched in 2023 with support from the Tuborg Foundation and the Otto Mønsted Foundation, Pollinate is a training programme designed for business developers and startup coaches across Danish universities. The programme provides participants with knowledge and tools to make sustainability an integral part of their operations and growth, ensuring they are well-prepared for a world increasingly focused on sustainability.
So far, more than 85 employees from seven universities have participated in Pollinate, which has had a positive impact on more than 1,400 startups in Denmark.
Driving future development
The programme is particularly relevant considering stricter regulations, such as the EU Corporate Social Responsibility Directive (CSRD), which requires companies to report on sustainability and demonstrate responsible business practices. By preparing startup coaches and business developers to guide others on this, Pollinate is laying the groundwork for a more sustainable business community. Ashlea Wallington, Director of the Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship accepted the award and emphasised Pollinate’s mission:
“With Pollinate we aim to set a new standard for integrating sustainability into innovation and entrepreneurship. This award is a recognition of our efforts, particularly the programme created by our impact developer Tillie Johansson, and it gives us the opportunity to make even greater impact. It is about making sustainability accessible and practical for entrepreneurs who want to make a difference but lack the right tools.”
The DKK 100,000 award will be used to develop a knowledge platform to connect participants in a sustainability community, which will support ongoing updates and exchanges of experiences among business developers.
CSE also plans to explore expanding Pollinate beyond universities to the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem, enabling business clusters and private incubators to benefit from the programme.
