MBA is ranked fourth greenest in the world

Sustainable initiatives such as cooperating with Roskilde Festival on sustainable projects and online courses in social entrepreneurship have paved the way for CBS being ranked 4th worldwide by Corporate Knights Better World MBA in 2017.

When it comes to educating responsible leaders, CBS consistently ranks among the top business schools in the world. This year CBS has maintained our 4th place globally in the Better World MBA ranking by Corporate Knights.

Prestigious universities such as McGill University and Harvard Business School are ranked lower than CBS at a 9th and 17th place, respectively.

The annual business school ranking assesses schools based on three indicators: curriculum, departments and centres, and faculty research. The final score is determined by how well a given MBA programme integrates social and environmental topics into the curriculum, the number of CBS centres and departments actively addressing sustainability-related matters, as well as the overall volume of research dedicated to sustainability.

CBS acknowledged for sustainable initiatives
A number of CBS initiatives in relation to responsible management education and sustainability have also been mentioned among the most notable 100 ideas for inspiration in the article Greening the business of business education by Corporate Knights. For example, they highlight CBS’ cooperation with Roskilde Festival:
“Since 2013 CBS has been working with the Roskilde Festival, the second largest music festival in Europe. Researchers use the festival, which brings together 130,000 people in a temporary city for two weeks every year, to research sustainable solutions for cities on a small scale that might be applicable to other communities.”

Corporate Knights also highlights CBS’ sustainability-focused online course:

“Students enrolled in CBS’ ”Becoming a Social Entrepreneur” online course form virtual teams with others from around the world to study a problematic issue, develop an idea and business model around a solution, and then compete in a virtual business plan competition.’
