Promotion of dr. Michel van der Borgh to full professor of design research
It is with great pleasure that I can announce that our colleague Dr. Michel van der Borgh has been promoted to Professor of Design Research.
Since 2018, Michel van der Borgh has been an Associate Professor of Marketing in the Department of Marketing at Copenhagen Business School. He previously was Assistant Professor of Marketing at Eindhoven University of Technology and Tilburg University. Michel obtained his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Hanze University Groningen, his MSc in Industrial Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology, and his PhD in Marketing from the same university.
Using a design science approach, Michel aims to understand how salespeople make decisions under high levels of uncertainty, for instance when selling new products, or when firms transform to a servitization strategy. Recent projects focus on the role of artificial intelligence, digitalization, and green initiatives.
Michel has published his work in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Product Innovation Management, and British Journal of Management. He regularly reviews for several leading journals and currently serves as an Associate Editor at European Journal of Marketing and Industrial Marketing Management’s.
Over a period spanning more than a decade, Michel has gained wide-spread teaching experience in a broad range of marketing, sales, and methods-related courses, which he provided at all educational levels and at different universities across Europe. At CBS, Michel is concentration coordinator of the 2-year MSc in Economics and Business Administration - Sales Management. Michel has been highly successful in attracting and managing several European and nationally funded research projects.
