Workshop - What have your students learned so far?
As part of the Department of Marketing’s continuing efforts to support our teaching staff in delivering high quality learning outcomes for our students and to develop individual teaching competencies we would like to invite our faculty to the following workshop.
Workshop - What have your students learned so far? Formative assessment in the classroom
In this 2-hour workshop, you will explore the topic of formative classroom assessment.
Starting with the core principles of lesson planning, you will then focus specifically on how to implement formative and continuous assessment in single classes, by working with a series of activities specifically designed for that purpose: classroom assessment techniques (CATs).
You will be asked to select activities that best align with the learning outcomes of your teaching session and to reflect on how you can use the information elicited from the activities to provide feedbac
k, adjust teaching and encourage self-assessment. You will work with activities that fall within these three categories: assessment of content knowledge, assessment of critical thinking skills and analysis, and assessment of creative thinking and synthesis.
You will also consider whether technology could facilitate the implementation of the activities and whether the proposed set-up could be adapted to suit your students’ needs better.
The workshop will include plenum discussion, individual reflection and group work, where DVIP and VIP colleagues could collaborate and exchange ideas.
Hosts: Varia Christie (vac.tl@cbs.dk) and Nuria Lopez (nl.tl@cbs.dk), Learning Consultants, Teaching and Learning.
