Kathleen Thelen, a senior and very highly respected academic, is a leader in the development of institutionalist theory which bridges across sociology and political science. She is very interested in the Nordic countries, that she often uses as cases in her work. Furthermore, her substantive focus ranges from areas such as vocational training and social policy to the responses of different countries to new initiatives of the sharing economy, such as Uber.
