European Union – key resources

If you are looking for literature, information or documents about the EU, CBS Library gives access to several resources.
Here is a short presentation of some of the key resources.
Official documents in EUR-lex
EUR-lex is the key EU resource to find public documents from the EU such as the EU law (treaties, directives, resolutions etc.), the case law and the Official Journal of EU dating back to 1952.
Literature from the European Commission Library
Find-eR is the search system of the European Commission Library. This catalogue contains books and articles from more than 200 journals from commercial publishers in many languages but mostly English, French and German.
A Find-eR search combined with a Libsearch search is a good basis for a literature search on EU topics.
Statistics in Eurostat
Eurostat is the statistical office of the European Union. Its task is to provide the European Union with statistics that enable comparisons between countries and regions.
Statistics Explained is a good starting point. It explains the contents and what key sources you should look at.
Statistical themes give a brief introduction to the areas covered by Eurostat.
Topic-specific information
ESO (European Sources Online) contains information on the institutions and activities of the European Union.
One of the key features is the Information Guides that help you find relevant sources and organisations within a long list of topics such as Energy Policy, European Economic Data or Euro-scepticism.
On EU's official website you find “EU by topic” – another good information resource to find information by topic.
The Danish angle from the EU Information Centre
At the EU Information Centre, you'll find a presentation of the Danish relationship to the EU and a wealth of information about EU issues in Folketinget (the Danish Parliament).
You can also find documents from The European Affairs Committee (Europa-udvalget) which plays a central role.
Before a Danish Minister heads off to Brussels to make decisions at the Council of Ministers, they will have appeared before the European Affairs Committee to obtain what is known as a mandate for negotiation. You find all documents related to Folketinget and EU under the headline “Dokumenter” (in Danish).
Access
Find the databases and websites through CBS Library's database overview under the topic EU.
CBS students and staff can access all the resources on and off campus.
