Andreas Brøgger and Theis Ingerslev Jensen secure positions as Tenure Track Assistant Professors in Finance

We would like to congratulate our PhD students, Andreas Brøgger and Theis Ingerslev Jensen, for securing their job market placements. After a long process of applications, interviews and flyouts, both our PhD students have earned positions as Tenure Track Assistant Professors in Finance. 

Andreas Brøgger will be joining Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University as Assistant Professor in Finance starting September 1, 2023. During his PhD, Andreas has worked with professors such as Jules van Binsbergen and Michael Halling on how to make impact investing impactful. 

Andreas is grateful to the Center for Financial Frictions for funding his PhD and making an extension possible, without which he would not have been competitive internationally. Additionally, Andreas thanks Jens Dick-Nielsen for ceaseless support and pushing to sharpen his thinking and David Lando for being a role model on teaching and conducting world class research. Andreas’s advice would be to present early, often, and to audiences of decreasing familiarity to you. 

On July 1, 2023, Theis Ingerslev Jensen will be joining Yale University as Assistant Professor in Finance. Theis has worked extensively with his supervisor, Lasse Heje Pedersen, and Bryan Kelly from Yale University, conducting research on various topics, including whether there is a replication crisis in finance. 

Theis wants to express his gratitude to Lasse Heje Pedersen, without whom his research accomplishments would not have been possible. He also highlights the significance of the ability to take a 5-year PhD at the Center for Big Data in Finance and its predecessor the Center for Financial Frictions, which provides job opportunities that would not otherwise have been available. His best advice is valuing the input of others while trusting one's intuition and carefully prioritizing decisions. 

The Department of Finance at Copenhagen Business School wishes Andreas and Theis the best of luck as they embark in their new endeavors at Rotterdam School of Management and Yale University.
