Carsten Sørensen appointed as the new Head of the Department of Finance

Professor Carsten Sørensen has been appointed Head of the Department of Finance as of 1 January 2019.

The Department of Finance is happy to announce that Professor Carsten Sørensen has been appointed Head of the Department of Finance as of 1 January 2019.

Carsten is well-known at CBS, where he has served in several roles since first joining in 1993. He is currently leading the Danish Research Data for the Social Sciences (DRDS), an initiative supported by a DKK 36 million infrastructure grant from the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. He has served as programme director for the BSc programme in Economics and Business Administration and as chairman of the Professors’ Association at CBS. Carsten was also head of the Department of Economics and Business Economics in Aarhus in 2016-17. He is now returning to the position he held in 2004-2009 as head of Department of Finance at CBS.

The Department of Finance would also like to express its gratitude to Professor Morten Sørensen, who accepted the task to become interim head of department last year. Morten has made many valuable contributions to CBS as interim head of department, but now he wishes to return to teaching and research in his professorship.
