New book out: Milestones in European Housing Finance by Jens Lunde, Department of Finance, CBS
Associate professor at the Department of Finance Jens Lunde publishes new book entitled Milestones in European Housing Finance. The book is co-edited with Emeritus Professor Christine Whitehead, London School of Economics and is published with Wiley-Blackwell.
The book Milestones in European Housing Finance brings together up-to-date material from across Europe in order to clarify how the European housing finance markets have developed over the last 25 years as well as to clarify which countries followed particular trends.
The book offers detailed evidence and analysis across countries from local commentators and therefore it fills a gap which is currently only being filled by national analyses or international commentators.
“It has been 3 years of intense work and I am very happy finally to see the result. We are very proud to be able to present this book and we hope it will be widely used to get an understanding of how other European housing finance systems work and also how they differ”, says Jens Lunde, editor and associate professor in Housing Finance at the Department of Finance, Copenhagen Business School.
About Milestones in European Housing Finance
Milestones in European Housing Finance consists of 25 chapters and covers developments in countries across Europe together with Australia as a comparator. It focuses on understanding the sources of private sector finance for owner-occupation. In countries where the private finance market for social and private rental housing is well-developed, this is also discussed. For each country, the major milestones in the development of the market over the last 25 years are identified and examined. The chapters also look to understand the efficiency and effectiveness of these national markets into the future.
