PhD defence: Søren Friis Møller

From Disinterestedness to Engagement- Towards Relational Leadership In the Cultural Sector

Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 13:00 to 15:00

In order to obtain the PhD degree Søren Friis Møller has submitted his PhD thesis:

From Disinterestedness to Engagement- Towards Relational Leadership In the Cultural Sector

The thesis inquires into how leadership is performed narratively in the cultural sector. The inquiry contends that leadership in the cultural sector is predominantly drawing on narrative resources seeking legitimization through the metanarrative of the Age of Enlightenment, which it relates as the art for art’s sake narrative.

As this metanarrative is challenged in a postmodern, globalized and digitalized world, the inquiry suggests a movement towards relational leadership legitimizing itself in ongoing processes through performativity.
