Abstract
The presentation will give an overview of the current climate for doing business in Mexico and will highlight some of the areas where Mexico in the near future will be particularly interesting for Danish companies in terms of developing new business. Furthermore, the presentation will give insights into how the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (The Trade Council) assist companies in their trade promotion. Finally, the presentation will touch upon the issue of career planning for students interested in working in a Latin American context.
Lars Volck Madsen's bio
Lars Volck Madsen is a career diplomat employed since 2004 by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He currently holds the position as Head of Commercial Affairs and Deputy Head of Mission at the Danish Embassy in Mexico. Previous positions include the one as Deputy Head of the European law department as well as postings to the Danish Embassy in Poland and the Danish UN Mission in Geneva.
Lars holds a law degree (Cand.jur.) from Copenhagen University and a LL.M in European Law from the College of Europe (Bruges). In his professional career Lars has had strong emphasis on European law, trade law, human rights law and policy, social risk mitigation and more recently export promotion.
