SEMINAR: The Hottest Markets in Latin America
NETWORK MEETING: DI invites you to participate in this network meeting on 29 August 2016 at Copenhagen Business School to learn about the economic and political development in the Latin America region, and the most interesting sectors.
Abstract
Latin America is experiencing a period of near unprecedented stability in terms of business development. Despite occasional setbacks, the region continues to distance itself from its reputation as a volatile destination for foreign exporters and investors. Most of the Latin American countries are recording steady economic growth. Politically, the days of revolution and constant inner turmoil are gradually becoming a memory.
Despite the progress, however, Danish companies are still hesitant to embrace the Latin American markets. Compared to other emerging regions, Danish exports to Latin America is below par, and Danish direct investments are rare.
DI, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CBS have created the ‘’Latin America Business Forum” as an attempt to change the status. The objective of the network is not to promote Latin America unreservedly. Our goal is to inform about regional opportunities and threats, strengths and weaknesses, in an objective and professional manner. We believe that Latin America has tremendous untapped potential for Danish companies but we also acknowledge the challenges.
At this meeting, we welcome you to meet the Heads of Mission in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru and São Paulo in Brazil. They will provide an update on their markets, and give their take on the most interesting sectors. Furthermore, you will meet Harboes Brewery that operates on multiple markets in Latin America. Harboes Brewery will present their view on the Latin American markets, as well as share their take on Latin Americas hottest markets right now.
