Business Statistics Data Warehouse: New opportunities for Firm Behaviour Research based on micro data
Business Statistics Data Warehouse: New opportunities for Firm Behaviour Research based on micro data
Access to micro data is crucial for advancing economic and social science research and evidence based policy making. Statistics Denmark will present its new Data Warehouse for Business Statistics giving researchers and other users of anonymized enterprise data at micro level access to new and improved data sources. Especially new statistical registers addressing globalization such as International Trade in Services, Foreign Affiliates (FATS) GVC and International Sourcing will be presented. The Data Warehouse will also include a new register holding longitudinal data as well as improved documentation of the sources used in compiling the annual account statistics.
The Data Warehouse will give researchers new and improved possibilities of linking data across statistical registers at enterprise level. Furthermore, a new register holding information about the owners, directors and board members will open up new research possibilities. The Data Warehouse will also facilitate the possibility of linking business and social statistics at micro level (so-called Linked Employer-Employee Data); giving researchers access to –in an international context - unique data linking possibilities.
The project is part of Danish Research Data for Social Sciences (DRDS) funded under the Danish Research Infrastructure program with the purpose of establishing a data infrastructure utilizing the high quality statistical registers at Statistics Denmark for new and groundbreaking research.
