01/23/2020

Professor Jodi R. Sandfort, Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota, was the key speaker in POVIs seminar held January 20, 2020, about the implementation of policy and program into organizational practices. Professor Sandfort’s presentation contributed with a fresh viewpoint on implementation as occurring in complex, multi-level systems.

In the tradition of design science, new principles were articulated to provide specific guidance for analysts and public managers interested in using a theoretically informed approach to improve public value outcomes and make change - rather than just describe it.

In addition, Associate Professors Martin Bæk Carstensen and Susanne Boch Waldorff presented their work-in-progress emphasizing the perspectives of agency, bricolage and institutional context in implementation research.
