They reveal hidden structures in the economy and job market: Lise Vesterlund and Mariana Mazzucato appointed honorary doctors at CBS.
How can we create a fairer workplace where top talent is promoted, and women’s careers are not held back by invisible burdens? This is the question that Professor Lise Vesterlund, co-author of the critically acclaimed book The No Club: Putting a Stop to Women’s Dead-End Work, has dedicated her research to. She is now being appointed honorary doctor at Copenhagen Business School, and in her open lecture she will explore the invisible structures at play and the issue of gender equality in the workplace.
Mariana Mazzucato will also be awarded an honorary doctorate at CBS. Mariana Mazzucato, a professor of innovation and public value creation at University College London (UCL) and founder of the Institute for Innovation & Public Purpose, has revolutionised the understanding of public innovation and economic value creation through her acclaimed books, making her one of the world’s most influential economists.
Both researchers uncover hidden economic mechanisms in society and the labour market, focusing on the challenges these structures create.
Stronger collaboration between CBS and new honorary doctors
The honorary doctorates will foster further collaboration between CBS researchers and the two influential researchers.
“Both honorary doctors represent an impressive spirit of innovation, groundbreaking research and excellent dissemination. They have had an enormous impact across various research areas, not just in academic circles but also in government offices, boardrooms and workplaces worldwide,” says Peter Møllgaard, CBS President.
Join us for the celebration and open lectures
Everyone is welcome to attend the open lectures on Friday 21 March at CBS, where both honorary doctors will present their research in celebration of the appointment.
The event is free of charge, but registration is required.
