Academy of Management award to MSC scholar
At the recent 2022 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, MSC PhD Fellow Leonie Decrinis was awarded the Best Business Ethics Paper Award for her paper submitted to the Social Issues in Management Division for presentation during the Annual Meeting.
The Best Business Ethics Paper Award is awarded by the Academy of Management Social Issues in Management division, and it is sponsored by the Journal of Business Ethics. The award was created in June 2017 by Ed Freeman and Michelle Greenwood, Editors-in-Chief of the Journal of Business Ethics, and acknowledges the prominence of business ethics research in the Social Issues in Management domain.
Leonie Decrinis won the award for her paper entitled “Means v ends in business ethics: A behavioural trade-off between compliance and achievement of corporate ethics programmes”. In the paper, Leonie questions the conventional compliance-oriented approach to workplace ethics and analyses the potential of nudging as a behaviourally informed intervention approach that preserves the freedom of choice. |
