The Government of Life

Public Lectures w/ Thomas Lemke, Mitchell Dean and Nikolas Rose
April 8, 14:00-16:30, CBS, Dalgas Have 15, room SC.033

How might life be empirically studied as a problematic of government? How do particular forms of government generate specific understandings and valuations of ‘life’?  In which ways can we further conceptualise (emergent) relations between normative valuations, knowledge of life/knowledge of living and the government of life/living?

"The Government of Things": Biopolitics and New Materialisms
Prof. Thomas Lemke, Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main

The Prince and the Population
Prof. Mitchell Dean, Copenhagen Business School

Governing Through the Brain
Prof. Nikolas Rose, King's College London

The lectures will be followed by a wine reception at CBS and are supported by the CBS Public-Private Platform.
